Monica Cleary is a children’s author and photographer originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, who has called Savannah, Georgia home for the past 17 years. She is the proud mother of two daughters who helped rekindle her lifelong love of storytelling and children’s books.

Monica is the creator of Molly MotorMouth, the first of an ADHD series. This series is a heart-centered children’s book collection designed to help kids with big personalities—especially those with ADHD—feel seen, understood, and celebrated. As an advocate for ADHD awareness, Monica is passionate about creating stories that encourage empathy, confidence, and self-acceptance in young readers.

Writing this series has also been a deeply personal journey for Monica. It represents tapping into her childhood dreams, and reconnecting with the creativity and joy that first inspired her love of storytelling. In honor of that younger version of herself, Monica chose to publish under her maiden name, using it as a tribute to the girl who always believed in the magic of stories, and making others feel seen.

Through her books, school visits, and community events, Monica hopes to spark imagination in children while reminding them that their voices, ideas, and energy are something to be proud of.
